- Completion of introductory courses in counseling or a related field is recommended.
- Access to a computer or mobile device with internet connectivity for online course materials and discussions.
- A Bible (preferably in the participant's native language)
This course equips Bible Workers with foundational counseling skills to assist individuals in spiritual and personal growth as well as to develop active listening, empathy, and effective communication techniques. It guides them in understanding biblical principles that guide counseling practices and teach them how to address common challenges and boundaries in counseling.
Upon completing DSW 503, participants will be able to:
- Articulate the biblical principles that guide counseling practices.
- Demonstrate active listening, empathy, and effective communication techniques in counseling.
- Identify and address common challenges and boundaries in counseling.
- Develop a safe and supportive counseling environment.
